This project is a collaboration between BEAT-MAN, the singer of the
legendary Garage Rock band THE MONSTERS - also well known for his
solo career as LIGHTNING BEAT-MAN (later REVEREND BEAT-MAN)
- and HERPES Ö DELUXE.

Pavel Schmidt was born in 1956, was raised in Switzerland and lives in Munich and Solothurn.
During his pyrotechnical interventions, the internationally active artist blows up cheap mass
replications from greek-roman heritage and garden gnomes/twerps of northern origin. Pavel is
a "detonator of art", when he blows up and then reassembles these plaster reproductions of
both antique and contemporary figures. He wants to heal, save the scattered remains and
reassemble the pieces in a distorted new way and through this he wants us to think about
art, the circle it is cought within - destruction, rescue and repairs. The musical setting for
these actions usually lies within the hands and knobs of Herpes Ö DeLuxe, whose sound
excrescences pick up after the "big bang" to provide an adequate mood for the "healing" of
the blown apart figures while Pavel rearranges the scattered fragments of southern and
germanic culture into one new, "healed" sculpture. Herpes Ö DeLuxe always enjoy to provide
some interesting art locations with their dense sound and hence contribute to the combination
of beer and wine culture...
